Happy New Year, Gorgeous People!
Wow—2025 already! How did that happen? As we dive into a fresh year with new goals, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my absolute favourite TFS (The Flower Studio) moment of 2024.
My Highlight of 2024: Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas!
Where do I even begin? Being part of this incredible show was a career-defining moment for me. Let me share how it all came together.
The Journey to Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas
It all started when I was heavily pregnant and received an email about the show through a craft market link. There were several categories to choose from, but the wreath category immediately felt like the perfect fit. I’ve been a fan of the show for years, so I was thrilled just to apply—though I never dreamed I’d make it!
The casting team loved me (oops!) and after a whirlwind of videos, applications, mood boards, sketches, and phone calls, I got the news: I was in!
With only two weeks to prepare, a new born baby in my arms, and no time to create a full mock-up, I had to trust my vision and hope it would all come together on the day.
Filming Week: From Derby to Dumfries
Fast forward to filming—I travelled from Derby to Scotland and straight to Dumfries, where the set was magical, the crew was amazing, and the whole experience felt like a dream.
The filming took place over a week, with long but exhilarating days. I entered the wreath category and created an iconic, colourful rainbow wreath with a disco ball twist. I had just three and a half hours to bring my idea to life, and it was INTENSE!
Our guest judge was none other than Konnie Huq (childhood hero alert!), who made the final decision. And guess what?
Drumroll... She picked me!
The shock on my face said it all—I couldn’t believe I had won the wreath category!
The Final Challenge
After my big win, I had just 12 wild hours to prepare for the next day’s challenge: designing a table scape. My design featured a floral cloud, centrepiece, mini bouquets, and name cards. With another three and a half hours to execute my vision, the pressure was ON.
The final round included four insanely talented competitors and was judged by the one and only Patrick Grant. Although I didn’t win this time, I was overjoyed to be a finalist. The experience—and my newfound love for red and pink as a colour combo—will stay with me forever.
A Dream Come True
This experience was everything I could have hoped for and more. The best few days EVER!
Since the show aired, I’ve been so grateful for all the love from new followers and subscribers. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who’s supported me—I’m truly overwhelmed by your kindness.
